22 June 2019: Art Collection Open Day
As part of the Refugee Festival Scotland, the 'Experiences of Exile' exhibition at the University of Stirling will host an Art Collection Open Day on Saturday June 22nd, 4-6pm. The exhibition explores works from the permanent collection by artists who, at some point in their lives, were forced to leave their homes due to hardship or war - including an exhibit on the former French Settlers of Algeria.
This afternoon’s events include guided tours of the exhibitions, an opportunity to print a keepsake on the University’s Columbian Press and a musical performance by Syrian guitarist Ayman Jarjour. Please find out more about it here.
From Thursday 20 – Sunday 30 June 2019, the Refugee Festival Scotland will be coordinated by the Scottish Refugee Council, focusing on the theme of "Making Art, Making Home" and the 'talent, creativity and resilience of New Scots artists and community groups'.
